Our Story
Deb had been in business for several years when she realized she couldn’t do it all alone. The business was good, but to take it to the next level, she needed something. She wasn’t sure what. During one of their weekly coffee dates, knowing Karoni was doing ad hoc consulting, Deb finally said, “I really need someone to do that for MY website.”
It didn’t take long for the two to realize that together, they could reengineer the business model, build relationships with new manufacturers and chart a new path forward. Debra and Karoni decided to go “all in” together. They strategically went into a chrysalis period to restructure the business and find the right partners; from manufacturers to vendors to branding gurus. With dedicated time and effort, they rebranded Debra’s business and officially launched Debra Navarro & Co in the spring of 2025.
Why is this so cool? Because Debra and Karoni have been life-long besties since they met in college. Karoni was a wide-eyed freshman at Texas A&M when she met Deb, who was a couple of years ahead of her in school and working at an off-campus dorm where Karoni lived. In fact, Karoni thought Deb was her RA until just recently. They became fast friends. Later, the two decided to rent a house together in Bryan, TX.
They shared everything really; their home, their friends, their love of music, their clothes, their secrets and so many laughs. Most importantly, they shared themselves with raw honesty, true acceptance and love for one another. They built a bond and foundation of friendship that would never be shaken.
After graduation, Deb moved to Houston and shortly after, followed love to Wichita, KS. When Karoni finished school, she headed to Austin, TX to discover what life would have in store for her. The two remained very close and knew, even if days, weeks and sometimes months, went by without a phone call, they were always there for each other and would drop everything if the other was in need.
The two were in each other’s weddings and as life would have it, they became mothers at the same time. They each have one daughter, born four months apart. Their journeys through life have been separated by geographical distance, but through all the twists and turns each have taken, their friendship has been one constant they could always depend upon.

Deb & Karoni – Then & Now
Working together happened very organically, so much so that they felt it was divine intervention. The two saw the possibilities of what could be done together, each with skill sets the other doesn’t have – and each being excellent at what they do. To say they’re excited about their business adventure together is an understatement. They enjoy spending their daily lives together again, and with purpose. They both embrace the core values of Debra Navarro & Co. Together, they are committed to providing a great customer experience, and creating jewelry with sustainability and supplier responsibility at the forefront of their hearts and minds.
Their time at Texas A&M is forever treasured, and Aggieland will always feel like home. It’s where these two started their young lives and so much of their “growing up” took place in Bryan/College Station – and so much of it, together, as the best of friends. They are extremely proud to say of Debra Navarro & Co, “We’re Aggie owned and operated!” Gig ‘Em Ags!
